2.Help & Support

All of our items come with free support, and we have a dedicated support system to handle your requests. Support is limited to questions regarding the theme’s features or problems with the theme. We are not able to provide support for code customizations or third-party plugins. If you need help with anything other than minor customizations of your theme then you should enlist the help of a developer.

To submit a Ticket always remember:

  • Include as many information as possible to explain your issue.
  • Your URL.
  • Name of the Theme.
  • Your WordPress version.
  • If you installed extensions, specify which are these.

3.Installtion

3.1.Our Ri Two Package - What’s Included?

When you purchase our theme from Themeforest, you need to download the Ri-Two files from your Themeforest account.

Navigate to your downloads tab on Themeforest and find Ri-Two.

Click the download button to see the two options. The Main Files contain everything, the Installable WordPress Theme is just the installable WordPress theme file.
Below is a full list of everything that is included when you download the main files, along with a brief description of each item.

  • Ri Two Theme Folder – contains the ri-Two.zip wordpress theme. The child theme is only for users who make code changes.
  • Extras Folder – contains the developer documentation for Revolution Slider. This is not ours, but the plugin developers docs.
  • Licensing Folder – this contains the licensing files, this is not your purchase code that you need to download from Themeforest.
  • PSD Folder – this contains all the layered PSD files for those developers or designers who want to customize the design further.

3.2.Pre-Installation Requirements

  • To use Ri Two, you must be running WordPress 3.9 or higher and PHP 5.3 or higher;
  • To avoid problems with demo content import you must be sure that file_get_contents() function is enabled in the server configuration;
  • Recommended memory_limit is no less than 64M;
  • Upload_max_filesize should be no less than 20M.

3.3.Wordpress Installation

Here is a brief step by step on how to install WordPress:

  1. Download and unzip the WordPress package if you haven’t already.

  2. Create a database for WordPress on your web server, as well as a MySQL user who has all privileges for accessing and modifying it.

  3. Upload the WordPress files in the desired location on your web server:

    • If you want to integrate WordPress into the root of your domain (e.g. http://example.com/), move or upload all contents of the unzipped WordPress directory (but excluding the directory itself) into the root directory of your web server.

    • If you want to have your WordPress installation in its own subdirectory on your web site (e.g. http://example.com/blog/), create the blog directory on your server and upload WordPress to the directory via FTP.

Note: If your FTP client has an option to convert file names to lower case, make sure it’s disabled.

  1. Run the WordPress installation script by accessing wp-admin/install.php in a web browser.

3.4.Theme Installation

3.4.1.Uploading Ri Two

There are two options for uploading WordPress Ri Two Theme:

Option 1: Using WordPress Theme Uploader

The first option how to install this Theme would be to directly upload the ri-Two.zip file via WordPress Theme Uploader.

  • Log into your WordPress backend
  • Navigate to Appearance > Themes
  • Click Add New

Now you just need to find the ri-Two.zip in the Upload folder and hit Install Now.

Option 2: Using FTP manager

The second option how to install this Theme would be the upload via FTP manager. It really dosen’t matter which of the two ways you choose, just choose the one you feel more comfortable with.

  • Login to your FTP account and navigate to your WordPress Installation directory
  • Navigate to the folder /wp-content/themes
  • Upload the ri-Two folder (not the .zip-file). This is the folder located inside the Upload folder in the zip-file you’ve downloaded from Themeforest.

  • Now log into your WordPress backend
  • Navigate to Appearance > Themes
  • Find the Theme and click Activate

Once you have uploaded the theme, you need to activate it by going to Appearance > Themes, and activate Ri-Two.

4.External Plugins

  • First of all, we would like to specify that we do not guarantee the compatibility of our theme with all the third-party plugins for WordPress . Our template is fully compatible only with the plugins that are included in our theme . You often (not always) need to customize the extension to make it work properly with your theme. It’s impossible for theme author to make the theme compatible with all existing extensions. Please, take that into your consideration and treat with understanding!

4.1.Required Plugins

  • At the firts time you install the theme, you will see a notice about required plugins you have to active. Please choose Begin updating plugins or Begin activating plugins to start

  1. Click to choose all of the plugins
  2. Scroll down and select Install
  3. Choose Apply to install required plugins
  4. Activate required plugins: Do the same process as Install required plugins but in Step 1, you have to choose Activate instead of Install

Note: DO NOT update YITH WooCommerce Zoom Magnifier because it will break the former order of layouts.

4.2.Installed Plugins

  • Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins then you will see a list of installed plugin, which requires to be set up at the first time you work with Ri Two

4.3.Add New

  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  • Enter the name of plugin in search field
  • Download and activate the plugin

4.4.Edit Plugins

  • Navigate to Plugins > Editor
  • Scroll down and select plugin to edit
  • Use shortcodes to edit the plugin
  • Choose Update File button

5.Demo Content

When you first install any wordpress theme, it will not contain all the extra content that you might see in the live demo. Now you don’t have to import demo data to your site manually. We already built an advance feature. This features improves import just in few clicks.
Please note that when you install base demo content doesn’t include Home Page or the slider revolution import. We will step by step introducing on how to set them up.

    • Install demo content just in few clicks will import:

– Customize
– Widget
– Menu
– Post
– All Pages(exclude Home Page)

  • Log into your WordPress backend
  • Navigate to Tools > RIT Import Sample Data
  • Click on Istall Base Demo Content.

Data processing which takes about five minutes. You will not be able to do any operation while you are waiting.

After finished import demo content, you can choose one of Home layout style. Now please choose any Home Page and click Install .

  • This step will install only content of page and revolution slider which you chosen.
  • When you go to Revolution Slider in the left side menu then you will see Slider imported.

Exporting Data


  • If you are moving to a new host or just want a backup of your site data, you should use Export option of WordPress. Once the Export file is created, that file can be used for import by the Tools Import.
  • The Exporting Process is quite simple. In your WordPress dashboard, Go to Tools > RIT Export Sample Data > just specify the desired Filters, if any, you wish to apply and then click the Download Export File button to save that file to your local computer:

  • WordPress will create an XML file, which contains your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags.
  • Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function in another WordPress installation to import the content from this site.
  • Now make sure to select the Menu in Appearance > Menus and choose below options:

  • Go to Settings > Reading and do as below image if you want to use like demo page :

6.WooCommerce

6.1.Installation

  • Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  • Enter the WooCommerce in search field
  • Find and install WooCommerce – excelling eCommerce plugin by WooThemes
  • Activate plugin and install WooCommerce Pages

6.2.Settings

  • Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Display and disable Lightbox.
  • Set following recommended dimensions

Note:

  • To customize Woo Commerce stylesheet or changing color, we have create a child stylesheet function of woo commerce in ‘wp-content/themes/ri-Ghoster/woocommerce/style.css’. You have to change color via this stylesheet only. Since line 2-60 are style that we override from original woo stylesheet to suit the theme. You can change color in there.
  • Please note that we don’t provide any supports on issue that occurred in Woo Commerce plugin, you have to head to their community forum

7.1.Create Menus

To setup a new menu, please follow the steps below. Its best to already have your pages created, even if they are blank pages.

  • Navigate to Appearance > Menus page
  • Click the Create a new menu link to make a new menu. Enter the name then hit Create Menu.
  • To add a menu item, you can easily select one of your already made pages on the left hand side and click Add to Menu.
  • You can also add menu items by entering a custom name and custom link into the Links box.
  • You can manage your menus using the drag and drop functionality. To create a dropdown menu, simply drag a menu item below and slightly to the right of another menu item and it will lock into place and create a dropdown section.
  • After setting up your menu, select the menu you just created as the Primary Navigation in the Menu Settings and Create a new menu and select it as the Top Menu Navigation in the Menu Settings.
  • Once its all done, make sure you click the Save button.
  • You can change menus locations in any time from Manage Locations tab .

Once you’ve created your menu, you need to assign it to the menu location which you would like to use it for. You can do so by setting it under the Manage Locations tab.

You can also set the top header menu, and footer menu here, so if you would like to use both make sure you create a menu for each area.

7.2.Mega Menu

Mega Menu functionality is built-in to Ri Two, so you can easily create mega dropdowns without any extra plugins or configuration. All you need to do is create a menu that goes into 3 tiers. You can have as many items with a mega menu as you like. Menu items that only have one level of children will show a standard dropdown. The image below shows an example of the setup for a mega menu, and the front end output:

7.3.Advanced Menu Settings

Once you have created a custom menu and added any pages, category pages, or custom links you like, you may want to check out these advanced menu capabilities to get the most out of your custom menu.

Adding Individual Posts, Tag Pages, and Post Format Pages

In addition to Pages, Links, and Categories, you also have the option to add the following modules to the menu editor, to customize it further. These modules are hidden by default, so to display these modules in the custom menu editor, click the Screen Options drop down at the top-right of your screen, and check the boxes for the module you want to use.

  • Posts: Allows you to add individual posts to your custom menu.
  • Tags: Allows you to create a filtered blog feed displaying posts from a particular tag.
  • Format: Allows you to create a filtered blog feed displaying posts from a particular custom format, such as all your gallery posts or quotes

Customizing The Mega Menu Display

CSS Classes are an advanced menu property that allow you to apply a CSS class to individual menu items. To enable customisations for the mega menu dropdown, you’ll need to first make sure you have enabled the ability to add custom css classes to your menu items. You can enable this functionality by pressing the Screen Options tab in the top right hand corner of your screen, and then checking the CSS Classes checkbox:

Enabling CSS Classes will add an extra box to each menu item that you have in your menu, in the same place you’d set the title, url etc. Note that this is only visible once you’ve added the item to the menu.

By adding any of the following custom classes, you can configure the mega menu to be 2, 3, 4, or 5 columns, by adding one of the following:

In Ri Two, We added the ability to easily alter the mega menu display, with easy to use checkboxes, seen below:

8.Pages

Your new theme comes with some awesome custom page layouts. These layouts can be used on any page you create to give them some special functionalities. In this section of the tutorial you will learn how to add a new page for your WordPress site, and the way to set up each element being available on the homepage as well.

NOTES: You must install Vitual Composer to be ensured that Two run smoothly.

8.1.Add New Pages

  • Navigate Page > Add New

  • Find Page Attributes box on the right side and set your Parent from the dropdown list; it’s usually set to No Parent

8.3.Predefined Page Layouts

  • All Pages on the Demo Page are created through a combination of shortcodes. You can found their setting in Pages > Home for reference information.

9.Theme Customize

NOTES:

  • After each step, do not forget to choose Save & Publish to apply your configuration
  • Options in these parts have lower priority than ones in Page, i.e options in Customize are are default configuration for Page.

9.1.Header Options

  • Navigate Appearance > Customize > Header Options
  • Upload the logo

You’ll want to upload an image to use for the retina logo too, to make your logo high quality on retina displays. The retina logo should be double the size in pixels, of your standard logo. If you do provide a retina logo, then please provide the logo width in the field below. This allows the theme to set the size, and enable the retina functionality to work perfectly.

The max height for the logo area is 42px as standard, but you can override this in the Theme Options panel. If you upload an image with a bigger height than this, it will automatically be scaled to fit. The logo area has a maximum size, as to keep the menu items correctly placed. If you upload an image with a smaller height than this, you may need to add top spacing to get it vertically centered.

9.11.Posts

The Posts menu option on the left is where you add blog posts. To add a new blog post, select the Posts > Add New option from the left hand WordPress menu.

9.11.1. Add A Post

Once you’re on the Add New Post screen, you will then be able to set a title for the blog post, add the body content, and also provide all the meta information such as extra details and media. In the blog meta you can set the image for the thumbnail, and also the media type for the detail page.

You can use the Swift Page Builder to create the content of the item, which effectively allows you to have limitless possibilities for what you can display, and also how you can display it. If you do use the Page Builder to create the content, you will want to provide a custom excerpt (can be found in the item meta).

The item meta also contains post slider options, allowing you to set the image for the slide that will show if the item appears in a posts slider, and also the display for the caption.

9.11.2.Create A Blog Page

To display your blog posts, you will then need to create a page that includes the Blog, Recent Posts or Posts Carousel page builder asset. See more about how to add a new a pge in the previous chapter Add New Page

Note: DO NOT set the posts page in Settings > Reading, as this will force your page to show the archive layout, and not follow your created page.

9.12.Products

The Products menu option on the left is where you can add and manage products. To add a new product, select the Products > Add Product option from the left hand WordPress menu.

9.12.1.Add A Product

Once you’re on the Add New Product screen, you will then be able to set a title for the product item, add the description, and also provide all the data information such as price, stock status, attributes, etc.

You can add a featured image in the right column box, and above that set any other gallery images. Any images you add here will be used for the product slider images.

Setting A Shop Page


To display your products, you will want to create a page, leave the content blank, and then set the Shop Base Page in WooCommerce > Settings > Pages.

If you would like to add products within a page that you create using the page builder, you can also use the Products & Products (Mini) assets.

9.12.2.Create a new Category

Creating categories is one of the easiest ways to organize your products. The more products you have, the more benefit you will receive by organizing into multiple categories. What do categories do? They allow your customers to easily sort and navigate your products.

  • To set up your product categories, click the Categories link under Products Menu in your WordPress Dashboard.

  • You can create multiple sub-categories within a categorythus creating a hierarchical organization. For a Fashion vendor, one common way to use groups is to create a new group called Fashion and a number of categories within it for Adidas, Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Lascote, and more. The resulting hierarchy would look like this:

  • Creating a new category is very similar to how you would do it in WordPress, only for product category’s there are a few advanced options.

If you are creating a parent category – then you will fill in the information you require, category name is the only required value here. For category parent you will leave this as none, if you were creating a child product (eg: Adidas) then you would set the Category Parent to (Fashion).

9.13.FAQs

The FAQS menu option on the left is where you add faqs. To add a new faq, select the FAQs > Add New option from the left hand WordPress menu.

You will then be able to enter the question (the title of the faq), and the answer in the the post content editor. You will also need to add a topic for each faq.

To display your faqs, you will then need to create a page that includes the “FAQs” page builder asset.

9.14.Contact

A contact form is a great way to offer your customers the ability to get in touch, without giving out your personal email address.

You can add contact forms to both posts and pages. Simply click the “Add a custom form” button.

  • To add a new product, select the Contact > Add New option from the left hand WordPress menu > select your language you want to Add New > now, you are on the setting page where you could customise your form with desired details and required fields, and well as message customisation options.

  • Your Name, Your Email, Subject, and Your Message were already included in the form by default, but if you also want to add a captcha for added spam avoidance, then navigating the Generate Tag menu, you select the CAPTCHA option (to add a captcha to your form you also need to install the Really Simple CAPTCHA plugin, which took less than a minute).

10.Typography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language readable and appealing. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning). Type design is a closely related craft, sometimes considered part of typography; most typographers do not design typefaces, and some type designers do not consider themselves typographers.

Now we have some guide about Typography, which should be used in Two (you can read this guide from Pages > Typography in the lively preview.

11.Reading Settings

After importing the sample data content, the next thing you have to do, is setting how & which content will be displayed to visitors via Settings > Reading page:

  • The Front Page Display setting allows you to choose what content appears on your blog’s front page. You can decide if you want posts, or a static Page, displayed as your blog’s front (main) page.

Front page: Select in the drop-down box the actual Page that you want displayed as your front page.In this case, we choose Home.

Post Page: Select in the drop-down box the name of the Page that will now contain your Posts. If you do not select a Page here, your Posts will only be accessible via other navigation features such as category, calendar, or archive links.

  • Blog pages show at most lets you choose how many blog posts are displayed per page. The default setting is 10 posts per page.
  • Syndication feeds show the most recent lets you set how many blog posts will be sent out at once via your RSS feed (located at http://your-domain.wordpress.com/feed/).
  • For each article in a feed you can select Full text or Summary. Full text means that the entire contents of a post are included in the feed. Summary means that only the first 55 words are included in the feed, along with the option to continue reading the rest of the post.
  • After that Save Changes to apply the changes to your WordPress site.

13.Language Translations

All of our Themes are able to be translated into any language. The process of translating the theme is a user responsibility. In this case, we recommend that you use the very popular WPML plugin.

To translate the static strings, if you aren’t using WPML then I recommend downloading PO Edit, from http://www.poedit.net/. Once you have installed please follow the steps below:

  • Open the /Two/languages/ folder and duplicate the en_US.po file, then rename it to your desired language code. For example; for German you need to re-name it as de_DE.po for Spanish es_ES.po for Turkish tr_TR.po etc. You can find all the codes from this link http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language.

  • Then you will need to open the .po file in PO Edit. Once opened, you will see all strings that needs to be translated. Type the translation of a string into the “Translation” column. Do not delete or edit “Original string” part.

  • When you finish translating, save the file. This will create an .mo file in the same directory.

  • Upload the new files into the languages folder of the theme /wp-content/themes/Two/languages/ and then follow this guide: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language#Single-Site_Installations

14.2.JavaScript Files

  • excanvas.compiled.js – Modern browsers like Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera support the HTML5 canvas tag to allow 2D command-based drawing. ExplorerCanvas brings the same functionality to Internet Explorer. More info: Explorer Canvas.

  • functions.js – This is where all the custom magic happens. Feel free to edit any of this code, but make sure to keep a backup in case anything goes wrong!

  • jquery-ui-1.10.2.custom.min.js – jQuery UI is a curated set of user interface interactions, effects, widgets, and themes built on top of the jQuery JavaScript Library. More info: http://jqueryui.com/.

  • jquery.carouFredSel.js – jQuery.carouFredSel is a plugin that turns any kind of HTML element into a carousel. More info: carouFredSel.

Why do I have to update Rit-core and how to update it?


Answer:

  • We have many changes in rit-core everytime theme update is available. Once theme update is released, it will be used with up-to-date plugins, such as Visual Composer, rit-core, Revolution slider… Rit-core is required to be updated to get rid of conflicts:

  • In order to update Rit-core, please follow these steps:

  • Back up your customization by export and import customizer. Read more information about this from Customizer Import

  • Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins then deactivate RiverTheme Core

  1. After that, you can reload or go to Appearance > Themes and you can see a notification:

2.Click on Begin installing plugin to install the plugin then wait for this message:
